The Flaws

The Flaws announce an array of festival appearances for this summer. They kicked off in style with an appearance at Glastonbury where they played a brilliant set on the Leftfield Stage on Friday the 27th of June. The lads are now gearing up for six Irish Festivals throughout July and August with appearances at Kilanney, Le Cheile, Castlepalooza and Indie-Pendence followed by Kilkenny’s brand new festival the Dysart Festival in Thomastown, Earwig Arts in Tuam and culminating with a welcome return to the wonderful Electric Picnic.
The Flaws released their debut album 'Achieving Vagueness', on their own independent label Arrivals Records in Sept '07 and it entered the Irish Charts at No. 18. The album went on to receive amazing reviews and by the end of the year they were cramming venues across the country. 'Achieving Vagueness', was nominated for the Choice Music Prize and two Meteor Awards. 'Idolise', was recently chosen by RTE as the music for their Euro 2008 closer. The lads were invited into RTE's studios to record a special visual piece to accompany the footy footage, the result was a classy piece of video which was watched by 600,000 viewers. The album has just been released in Italy and the lads toured there in March of this year. The reaction has been great with the single 'Sixteen', already receiving heavy rotation on some of Italy’s biggest radio stations. Plans are being made to return for another tour in October.
Over the past 2 months the band have been writing some new material and laying down some tracks in the studio. The Flaws camp are very happy with the outcome and their festival set will include 3 or 4 of these new songs along with some favorites from the album.
