The Kinetiks

Touted as "...'kin Brilliant!" by the Irish Times, The Kinetiks have etched out a solid reputation as the cream of the crop of Ireland's most promising breaking buzz bands. Nominated for the 2FM/Meteor Hope For 2008 Music Award, The Dublin based indie-pop rockers, still in their early 20s came together sharing influences from Beach Boys to The Strokes and The Hollies to The Libertines. Confident, charming, giddy and energetic have been used to describe the group's impressive live performances. Lead singer Gaz Harding has been plugged as "amiable and watchable as a frontman can get".
"A Smile'd Crack Your Face" debuted The Kinetiks as an instant radio hit winning airplay from national and regional stations as well as widespread press acclaim. A 2FM session followed, supported by indie champion DJ, Dan Hegarty. The track also brought the band to the attention of Today FM DJ Ray Foley as well as becoming a regular on the playlist of top alternative station Phantom FM in Dublin. Next up was leading Irish indie producer Gareth Mannix (Republic Of Loose/Delorentos/Director) who took over duties for the singles "Shuffle Your Feet" and "Bite The Bullet".
Recorded in Summer 2007 in Grouse Lodge studios, considered Europe's best, the tracks furthered the bands reach, topping the Phantom overall airplay chart and leading to high profile live appearances at festivals including the surf-rock Cois Fharraige with Ocean Colour Scene and Paddy Casey, Castle Palooza, the Trinity Ball, UCD Ball plus support slots to The Enemy, The Young Knives, Delorentos, The Chalets, Neosupervital and New York's Fiery Furnaces. They have also been invited to play media launches for Jameson Whiskey, Becks Fusion, Sonikpollen, the Music Ireland '07 trade show and the IMRO "Best Of Tour" Showcase on the strength of their live reputation. The band have also been invited to play the Oxegen festival in Summer '08.
The Kinetiks have been described as "the best indie band around right now" and as "having REAL breakthrough potential" by leading Irish music industry executives.
